Ryan Berlin
Director
Ryan has led research into housing markets and the economy since he joined Urban Futures in 2004. He provides clear, concise, and strategic insights into emerging economic, housing, and demographic trends and their implications for businesses, communities, and government. He has been a contributing author to a wide range of publications, including many publicly-available reports that have focused on housing affordability, labour force change, and health care spending.
Ryan holds a BA (Honours) in Economics from Queen’s University and an MA in Economics from the University of British Columbia. During his time at UBC, Ryan developed and taught courses on both micro- and macroeconomics.
Ryan is regularly travelling around BC, Alberta, and Ontario giving presentations to a variety of public and private sector audiences, including large resource companies, municipal and regional governments, nationwide retailers, and leading-edge developers and builders.
